The 2001-2002 Season is upon us and the Wings are coming out flying. Will all the big names jell together? Even more importantly, will the Wings learn how to play 60 full minutes of hockey? I'm loving Pavel Datysuk I hope that he is a sponge and just soaks up everything Igor has to teach him!

I have my tickets for Wings Training Camp 2000 in Traverse City (thanks Nancy!); here's to the team returning as Cup Champions! See you in September!

WINGS TAKE ANOTHER EARLY EXIT THANKS TO THE AVS

T his is one of my favorite pictures of Slava F, Igor and Slava K. It was taken in Russia 8/97 when they brought the cup there for a visit.

My favorite line of all time was the famed KLM line of Krutov-Larionov-Makarov, IMO the best line ever to come out of the Russian Hockey System. This line was part of the Russian Olympic team that won gold in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. I also enjoyed watching Fetisov work with this line; he would often be the late man in and would score after receiving a beautiful pass from Larionov or Makarov.

I'd like to mention my friends who either share, or put up with, my Russian Hockey and Red Wings passion: Chandana, Bev, Sharon, Ellen, Nancy, Walt, Sveta, Nik, Keri, Cathy, Beck, Jenn, Kanani, you guys are the best, love ya!!!

I'll leave you with a pic of my favorite hockey player, Igor Larionov. It was taken 8/97 when Igor took the Cup to his home town in Voskresensk, on the left is Slava Kozlov, it was also his homecoming. I love those men from Voskresensk!
