KAYIWA GROUP

It is our conviction that poverty relief programs must  solve the problems of unemployment, health, housing and education.

1. Falcimether:

In the field of fighting malaria we are working with the Bright Rich International in the field of manufacturing and distribution of Falcimether Anti-malaria drugs. At the present stage this medicine is being manufactured in China. We are glad to report that the herb from which this medicine is manufactured grows locally in Tanzanian, Uganda and other malaria infected countries. Unfortunately few people have tried to grow it an a big scale. We think whoever wants to bring the cost of anti-malaria medicine to the level the patients can afford should invest in growing the plant. If seeds could be distributed to the local populace and the leaves bought from them there will be ample supply of raw materials to the manufacturers and a cheap supply of medicine to the sick. Some herbs could be grown by individuals households. There are some big patches of land that are available for growing Artemether on a big scale. Your contribution can assist this project.

At this moment it costs us US$2.00 to deliver the Falcimether Tablets to Africa. Many people cannot afford it. They earn less than US$1 a day and earn nothing when they are sick. Any contribution towards this fund will go in lowering the price to the final user. Donate.

2. Sprayers

If you looked at products we are marketing you could have seen sprayers. We recommend this bucket method because it is cheap and can destroy mosquito bleeding grounds where applicable. We have been further assured that these pumps can increase agricultural yield either by spraying grain / plant eating insects or fertilizing the ground.

3. Housing

For the urban poor assisting with rent has been our part of participation. As need arises we would rent a House and subrent it to the poor as Kayiwa House. This temporary accommodation offered a big answer to new and old migrant workers as alternative to sleeping in appalling conditions. Our guiding principle has been to provide a decent and affordable living quarter to the poor. We are talking about Hong Kong.

The Uganda Housing Project has been different. We plan to build an estate that could house up to 1,500 people. The area is located close to a slum area of Kampala City. The housing need of Kampala is critical.

These 6 floor flats once started and completed will jump start the life of many city dwellers who are at present living without any basic facilities and utilities. We need US$ 18,000 dollars. We calculate that a loan of this size can be paid by the dwellers within 10 years. We plan that the housing estate will contain some simple factories that will provide employment to the local residents. From the salaries earned a family will be able to pay rent of at least US$100 per month. The financial appraisal shown below shows that the project is realistic and feasible.
