I was born in Fremont, MI in 1948. I am a third great-grandson of of Robert Jibson (1755). I live within 7 miles of where Robert Jibson (1821) settled in Newaygo County. My wife, Jane, and I share a 110 year-old home with two dogs and a cat. I am a Social Worker, working with elderly and handicapped adults who live independently. I created this web site as a home on the web for the widely scattered Jibsons who have lost touch with their family, as I did. The Internet is a wonderful tool for this. I hope everyone who visits will find it as fascinating as I have.
I am in radio in Yorkshire. I was born not far from the place of our family origins.

Guy wrote me at another web site a few months ago. I entered this guest registration for him so that he would appear in our data base. His father, Ron researched the Jibson family in the 70's with the help of MaryLou Moll (nee Jibson) from Grand Rapids, MI USA David J.

I was born February 28th, 1975 in St. George Utah the 4th of 5 children 4 boys 1 girl to Jack and Marlene Jibson. We are still a very close family the 2 oldest live in Utah, the rest of us live in the Denver Metro area. I lived in Utah most of my life until I turned 14 and we moved to Lakewood, Colorado. My parents still live in Lakewood. I now live about 10 miles south in Littleton, Colorado and I am a network engineer for AT&T Broadband. I have a 6 year old son, Devin and 2 Jack Russell Terriers. I am a huge Denver Broncos fan and love to go see them play when they are in town.

I am from the Grantsville line of Jibsons. My father, Jay Robert, was born in Grantsville to John Robert Jibson, who had six sons and one daughter. The family moved to Declo in southern Idaho in about 1920. After WWII, my parents moved to Fremont, California, where I and my siblings grew up. One of my brothers, Michael, lives in Ann Arbor, so he's not too far away from the Michigan clan. We have fairly extensive geneological records of our line and would be happy to share information. I am the daughter of Jay Robert & Myrtle Richins Jibson. My parents were both born in Utah and grew up in Declo, Idaho. My grandmother was Hazel Dell Anderson Jibson of whom you have a picture in your photo album (with four of my uncles and an aunt). I married Ronald Reed Wakley in 1964 and we have three sons, Ronald Jay(37) married to Elaine, Reed Allen(34) married to Dina, and David Craig(31) married to Tiffany. We are now grandparents of 10 (8 boys and 2 girls). I have three bothers, Jay Robert Jibson, Jr(Bob), Michael Dell Jibson, and Randall Wade Jibson. I am Robert Paul Jibson (Robb) orginally from Muskegon, Michigan (just south of where most of the family trails seem to orginate in Michigan) I am the son of Vern Jibson of Rothbury and have 1 sister, Carly who lives in New York City, one half brother, Tyler, who lives in Rothbury and one half sister who also lives in Rothbury. I work as a entertainment lighting designer in Chicago, how ever I am frequently bumbling across the country with bands in different capacities: setting up stage lighting sytems, running them, or designing them. I am the oldest son of Ross Jibson, son of Jerome Jibson (both deceased). I am married to Katy, we do not have any children or even a dog, yet. I have a brother who is a year and a half younger than me, Richard, he is currently serving our country in Iraq. I was married to Reginald Jibson, son of William who immigrated to Canada in 1913. He was the son of William Prince Jibson. I was a Yorkshire lass. I came to Canada with my dad and mother in 1918 and married Reg in 1928. We were farmers and made our home with mother and father Jibson until their deaths. All of the old clan are burried in the Aylmer cemetary. (excerpted from regular mail)
I am the son of Reginald Clarence Jibson and his wife Alice. My dad was the son of William Jibson and another Alice, and he was the son of William Prince Jibson and Hannah. Im 20 all my family are Jibson's don't know too much about it part from that they came from Holme on Spalding Moor originally then George Jibson my great-grandfather appears in Hull round the turn of the last century and as one of the best welders in the country welded the train line from Hull to Manchester settled in Manchester teaching welding (have a very large picture of him opening a Chubb safe) and had around 18 children of which some died very young and three in the 1st World War George Alfred Jibson my grandfather settled in Sale didnt take part in the 2nd world war because auxilary service and got married to Nora Rowley whose family came from Sale and owned a large hawling firm. They built up a large plumbing business that my dad (David Jibson) runs today he has 1 sister Helen and two children Andrew and myself oh and a wife! I live in Winchester because Iam at university my brother is training to be a professional rugby player he is 18. Think my dad knows more about the family history but also about how we are connected to afamous highwayman!

My father, Ron, did a lot of family history research in conjunction with Mary Lou Moll, who we met in Grand Rapids and at a Jibson family reunion in Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire in 1979? Also have met and spoken with Timothy Jibson a long time ago! Pleased to see there so many other people who must get constantly called Gibson before correcting the other person!
My father was Robert Jibson, son of William Jibson and Alice who emigrated from Yorkshire in 1913. Several of my siblings still reside in the Aylmer and London, Ontario areas. I have worked for the Tobacco Board for 30 years. My brother lives on the original Jibson farm where we operate a paint ball business together during the summer months. Until we received a letter from David in Michigan, we were unaware of other Jibson family in North America.
Someone left info about the Jipson family and Nellie Viola Fox (Jibson) on the website of my first cousin, John Trudo (familybugle.com). Nellie is the daughter of Cornelius Fox and first cousin to our grandmother (Mary Olive Fox). Nellie and Mary's grandparents (Leonard Fox/Fuchs and Margaret Schmitz) are the common ancestor. They were immigrants from Germany or (or through) Luxembourg, we believe. But we haven't traced their details down yet. So John's and my relation to Nellie is as a first cousin twice removed. I have two children Mark Cryderman of Muskegon, Sarah Blalock of North Carolina where her husband Nick is stationed. Hello everyone, I'm so glad I stumbled on this website. I am a member of the Jibson family as well; my great-great-great-great-grandfather was Robert Jibson. His daughter Mary was my great-great-great-grandmother. She married a man named George Fairfield and they had a son named Arthur. Arthur married a woman named Margaret Losby. THEIR daughter was named Doris, and she was my great-grandmother. Doris married a man named Henry Whisler and they had a daughter named Margaret Joan, who is my grandmother. I would love to hear from anyone who can help me fill in the gaps in my Jibson line. It would be a HUGE bonus if anyone has scanned copies of vital records of any Jibson family members, and could email them to me. I'm really big on documentation! Thank you to all.
I am the afore mentioned MaryLou Jibson Moll. I am a retired registered nurse, married to Raymond Moll...both of us born in Grand Rapids, MI..... raised in Muskegon, MI. I started our Jibson genealogy from a travel diary owned by my aunt LaVinna, who traveled to Yorkshire England in l923 with my grand-father Prince Albert Jibson of Sitka, MI. They found 21 first cousins then. I am the only child of Ellis R. Jibson, son of Prince Albert and Hattie Trumbull. I have three children, Judy, Greg and Lori..all grown and married. My great grand-father was Robert Jibson/wife Ann Buttle of Sitka, MI. Since retiring from nursing, I am a watercolor artist with my paintings at The Gallery Uptown in Grand Haven, MI and Robinette's Gifts in Grand Rapids, MI.
I have made many trips to England since starting my own family search. Ron and Kathleen Jibson of Scarborough hosted Ray and I for our first trip there. Then they came with their son Nigel and stayed with us in Grand Rapids in l976. On another trip to Yorkshire...where I visited Metham Grange...we stayed with Albert and Ann Jibson at Gilberdyke....and they hosted a reunion where we brought 29(?) Jibsons together including Tim Jibson, Jack Jibson, Ron, Kathleen, Nigel, Guy, Steven, Jane, John and Pat and others. Ann and Albert have been our guests here in Michigan several trips as well. It's true....Yorkshire hospitality is the greatest.
I have been doing my family history for over 25 years now, I also ran a Family History Group in my own village for about 15 years. I find genealogy very addictive. I also enjoy all different types of sewing. I have retired early due to ill health, but I wonder how I ever found the time to go to work, as I still don't seem to have enough time to do everything I want to. My Grandmother, Louisa Jibson died before I started the family tree, so my first information came from her half sister, Olive Johnson, who did not know a lot about the Jibsons, but she helped me get on the right track. When my Grandmother died, we didn't find any photos or certificates, it was as though she hadn't existed, it was by chance I found some information about her father getting killed on a building site, and got the inquest details. I will be interested in hearing from anyone who has Jibson connections in Hive/Eastrington/Sandholme/Giberdyke, E. Yorks.

Farnham Jibson. I have a son who is 14 years old. I am also the sister
of Debbie Younger who is also in the guest book. If anyone knew my grandmother Pansy
Faith Jibson as a young girl and know any stories about her, I would

know about her adult years from my father Donald who is her oldest child.

I live in Jacksonville, NC with my husband Nick of almost 5 yrs where we are stationed. He is in the United States Marine Corps. I was born and raised in Muskegon until I married. Hi my name is Derek Jibson. Was born in 1954 son of Kenneth Jibson and have lived in Middleton, Manchester, UK all my life. I am a Civil Servant working for Jobcentre plus who deal with welfare benefits and job placing. My hobbies are Military Modeling and Bus Photography. I have 4 sons, 2 of which are stepsons. They are David, Paul, Scott and Neill. I have lived with my partner Denise for 25 years. My grandfather was John Joseph Jibson and was married to Gladys Clayton. John had a sister who at the time that we used to visit her lived in Mirfield, near Halifax, Yorkshire, UK . (during the 1960’s) Can never remember her name. This is as far as I can go in the family as I do not know anything else about my grandfather’s background. If anybody can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. I moved from Yorkshire to Australia 3 years ago. At the moment I am a teacher at a local secondary school. I have been researching our family history for my mother and found that her ggg grandparents were John Jibson (b. 1796 in Sandholme) and Ann Green Scruton (b. 1801 in Eastrington). John was the son of Robert and Mary Jibson (m. 1783). I am always happy to hear from any cousins out there.

I am a professional violinist with a family of 3 children and a husband! My kids are 16 (Anthony), 13 (Jonathon) and 5 (Phoebe) My husband, John, is also a musician (viola). We live in Milton Keynes which is about 50 miles north of London.
