Winding Road
I smile a smile, I shed a tear
The raindrops wash away
In just a shattered moment
In silence I now pray
Wasted years with hurtful fears
Their toll on time will tell
Summer's gone the cold sets on
All hearts from grace were fell
In rhyming words I seek an end
A circle in time will go
An obtuse glance a frozen stance
And yet no one will ever know
The metronome will cast a glow
The shadows shall prevail
Into the night all strength and might
What the answers will entail
So travel down this course so wound
Into a day's repast
The silence goes as no one knows
For nothing ever lasts
Catch the beat stay on your feet
Do not get washed away
Sometimes in the words you read
There's nothing left to say
