Kelly Bolish died Wednesday, July 15, 1998. She was a good friend of mine. She was diagnosed with myledysplasia, a pre-leukemic disorder, and when she was, she ended up being the one comforting her parents that everything would be okay. She said, "Well, now, with the chemo, I won't have to shave my legs." She missed school for a large period of time for a bone marrow transplant, and when she came back, she was still smiling and playing basketball again. She used to go up to people in the hall and say, "If you were a jelly bean, what flavour would you be?" And always got a laugh. I didn't see her cry, not once. She was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Unfortunately, this summer she took a turn for the worse and was hospitalised again. She never returned home.
The budget for cancer research was cut in half to make more money available for aids research. While I understand it is necessary to help aids patients, I feel that there are many different ways to collect money, versus taking it from another life threatening disease.
At Kelly's funeral, they gave out green ribbons at the door. I'm not sure if the green was for hope, or if it was for leukemia, but I made this ribbon for leukemia, and if you would put it on your page, I would be greatly appreciative. I'm not saying you have to put it on, or anything like that. I'm just giving you the opportunity. All you have to do is paste this in:

Click here to see a picture of Kelly, as she will always be remembered. With that beautiful smile on her face. (it's kind of a bad scan job)
