The Archive page is designed to serve as a "historical" listing of past club events. Hopefully, it will provide the members a reminder of the good times we've spent riding together. Perhaps it will also encourage others to join us for future club events.

On 24 May 98 we participated in Rolling Thunder XI held in Washington, DC. This ride began at the Pentagon, traveled through Washington, DC and terminated at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The main mission of Rolling Thunder is to publicize the POW-MIA issue, educate the public of the fact that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all past wars and to help correct the past and to protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war-missing in action. This year over 250,000 motorcycles took part in this event. Members from the Mountain-Valley Riders Motorcycle Club in Harrisonburg, VA traveled across the state to ride with us. We all met at the McDonald's in Dumfries, VA and then proceeded to East Coast Harley where over 1000 bikes staged before leaving for the Pentagon parking lot. The ride started at 12:00pm, but we didn't move until after 2:00pm. The ride through DC was short, but crowded with thousands of on lookers. Below are some pictures taken from this ride.

The Ride for Kids is a charity ride to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the U.S. The ride traveled approximately one and half hours with a police escort via a scenic route. Prior to the ride, a few club members traveled to different motorcycle shops to solicit their support. By the way, over $112,000 was raised on this day!

On 1 Nov 98, several club members traveled to Historic Michie Tavern in Charlottsville, Virginia for lunch. In fact we had 14 participants on 12 bikes. The ride was about two hours each way and the food was fantastic. Enjoy the photos.
As some of you may know, record warm temperatures greeted Northern Virginia in late November and into early December. The weather forecast after Thanksgiving was predicting a prime riding opportunity. With this in mind, club members acted quickly to plan a "lunch" ride to the Shenandoah Mountains. Joining us for this ride was Nina. Nina was making her first club ride after recently completing the Motorcycle Safety Course. For this reason, we dedicated the ride to her. Her performance was exceptional as she gained the respect of all the club members. She didn't even appear nervous, but Rich (her husband) was acting like an expectant father. Enjoy the photos.
On 5 Dec 98, NVC club members joined with several other bikers to take part in the Salvation Army Toy Run to Washington, D.C. In fact we had 10 NVC members to participate. The ride was sponsored by Cycle Sport of Springfield, Virginia. The ride was short, but the cause was important. Enjoy the photos.
