I started this project on 16 January 1999 and have since completely tore down my entire car. I am taking on about 5 different projects at the same time with my engine build up, The roll bar was just completed, the power cooler has been polished and fitted, the reservoir is now located in the passenger side back seat floorboard and a massive Shogun pump will take the place of the 360gph pump Vortech provides. My Simpson racing harness has been installed. The most challenging aspect of the project is cleaning up the engine bay even more than it was before. I have started by removing everything and grinding all holes, on Thursday January 28 we will be welding all holes and preparing for bodywork and paint (pictures to follow). The motor build up will consist of a 302A4 block with JE 9:1 TW 4.035 pistons, Eagle rods, Scat crank, Comp cams 306-8 cam, Extrude Honed Cobra upper, and hand ported lower all toped off with a 15lb Vortech "S" trim with a Aftercooler. Hopefully this A4 block will give me a piece of mind while thrashing my 600 ponies around the streets of San Diego. The foundation for a 600+ rwhp motor 4 bolt mains Can you say beefy? Damage to #1 and #4 I acquired this block for $300, it had minor damage to #1 and #4 piston skirts. 2 sleeves and this block will be as good as new :). A4 Block finished and ready for assembly, notice the 2 sleeves on the first picture Block studded and with hyd roller rockers on a non roller block
