Ford plant 1941 Belgium 1995
This Chevy has been discovered in 1995, in a scrapyard in Belgium, near the city of
Charleroi. According the scrap man, it was used to carry coal. Papers show it was in use
until 1967.
The details conservation was amazing....very few of
details were missing (head and rear lamps, mirror, handle hinges, and some other small
details...). All the indentification plates, battery box, rifle holders, extinguishing
holder, seat cushions, pintle hook, brush gard, horn and electric cables were still on the
vehicle.
There is no certitude concerning the
delevery date, but it seems that it should be in 1940 or 41, even if it has a cab 12 hood
model.
Rebuild in class 1 on April, 16 1945 by the British Army
Auxilary Workshop (the plate was still fixed on the engine
cover), the cab 11 hood could probably be dismantled and remove with easier access cab 12
hood.
Some facts should proof that's an
cab 11 one (unless someone shows that I am wrong)
