Erebuni Body Kit Style #43
Pros: Completely changes the looks of the del sol. It really makes the car look a lot lower and kinda gives it an "evil" stance. I paid $525, which is not a bad price.
Cons: Made of fiberglass, so it's real fragile. The back tires love to kick up debris, so the paint chips off the rear piece (the side facing the tires). With lowering springs, it's not too difficult to scrape the bottom of the front spoiler when the road rises or drops sharply.
Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs
Pros: Another item that completely changes the looks of the car. You can feel the car handle better on sharp turns, but I basically got them to reduce that awful wheelwell gap.
Cons: The ride is obviously a lot stiffer, and those expecting a smooth ride (why did you buy a sol?) around town would really suffer. Even though the car was only lowered 1.8", since the del sol already has such a low roofline, it makes your car look kinda go-cart-style when you pull up to a stoplight.
PIAA H4 Superwhite Bulbs
Pros: I think this is a must for del sols! I never felt safe driving at night with the stock bulbs because they were way too dim. When I almost hit a median when turning onto a residential street that was enough to convince me. Besides the huge increase in brightness, they look a lot cooler with that white-blue tint.
Cons: Very expensive just for bulbs-- mine were $75, but I've heard of some people getting them for $60.
Clear Corner Lenses
Pros: I think every car looks better with clear European-style lenses instead of the stock amber ones. Since you can't buy clear corners for the sol, you have to make them yourself, so it's completely free. The corner lights also seem brighter, so you can light the sides of the road a little better.
Cons: Unfortunately, technically they are illegal, because the law requires that you have amber for your turn signals. You could always replace the stock bulbs with ambers, though. Also, since you have to do it yourself, it was kind of a pain having to break all the little pieces of amber cap out of the housing, and it makes you nervous having to literally break part of your car. With my PIAA's, the corner lenses come out looking yellow with all the lights on, only because they have the stock bulbs still in. The stock headlight bulbs would have matched the yellowish tint.
Fuba Antenna
Pros: Adds some extra flare to the roof of the car and gets better reception than the stock antenna. I really prefer just having the Fuba on all the time instead of having to put the stock one up.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Custom Red and Black Interior
Pros: Painting the vent rings and speaker grilles red and adding red shift/brake boots completely improves the already-cool interior. They are relatively easy mods to do for not a lot of money, just an aftermarket shifter and pedals total around $50-75.
Cons: Well the car kind of smelled like spray paint for a week after the pieces were painted. You have to get used to a different shifter feel and you have to adjust your driving to the "grippy" pedals.
