IN 1948 `CHAMPION MOTORS' IN ADELAIDE BECAME THE MORGAN AGENTS IN SA. UNTIL THEN MOST OF THE EARLY 4 WHEELERS IN SA SEEM TO HAVE COME FROM `BRY-LAW MOTORS' OF ELIZABETH ST, MELBOURNE, IN VICTORIA.
THE FIRST GATHERING OF THE REGISTER, WAS THE `ALL BRITISH DAY' ON FEB 14 1999, AT URAIDLA OVAL, IN THE ADELAIDE HILLS. OF THE 660 + ENTRANTS THERE WERE 12 MORGANS 11 OF WHICH MADE UP THE `MORGAN REG OF SA' DISPLAY, THIS WOULD BE THE LARGEST GATHERING OF MOGS IN SA FOR MANY YEARS. THE DISPLAY CONSISTED OF A 1948 4/4, 1949 4/4 DHC, 1966 +4 DHC, 1953 +4, 1949 4/4, 1973 4/4, 1974 +8, 1975 4/4, 1937 4-4, 1951 +4, 1979 +8AND ENDED WITH A DRIVE THROUGH THE ADELAIDE HILLS BACK HOME.

Ken's 1949 4/4, #1822. 1267cc Standard Special engine, Moss gearbox. Ken bought the car in 1967, then restored it over the next 3 years. Was used in club competition in the early seventies and is now used regularly for weekend runs and Classic Rallies.

Dashboard of John and Helen's 1937 4/4 #485. John bought the car in 1990 in a very sorry state. Since then it has had a full restoration including new chassis, woodwork, instruments and body.
Jack and his 1973 4/4. Jack ordered his car through Mike Spence Motors, Henly on Thames and picked it up from the Morgan factory in April 1973. Originally Dark Blue, it is now Italian Red with black interior. This is the car used in the last tv commercial for Amoco Petrol in 1979.
Craig's 1949 4/4, #1955. Was bought as a basket case project in Melbourne, Victoria, in 1984. It took a full ground up restoration over 4 years to bring it to its present condition.

1968 4/4 Competition belonging to Ian. This car is fitted with a 1600 GT motor and Ford Close ratio gearbox.
1985 4/4 4 seater. This car is powered by the Ford CVH motor.

John's 1951 +4that he has owned since 1966. He restored it in 1968 and has done nothing but drive it since then. This Mog was previously owned and raced by Gavin Sandford-Morgan back in the fifties and still has the Riley steering rack that was fitted back then. Note the bars on the radiator are on the front of the plates and not behind like the later flat rads +4's.
John and Norma's 1953 +4 #P2641. 2088cc Standard Vanguard engine, Moss gearbox. Originally sent to Cavalier Motors in California. Imported to Australia in the late eighties. This was the first car to be fitted with the revised specification Vanguard engine in June 1953.
Barbara and David's 1966 +4, Drop Head Coupe. Barbara's father bought this car in London in the early seventies, it was then shipped to America for a number of years, before finally ending up in Australia. This car is still in original un-restored condition.
Plus 4 This was Brenton Arnolds 2nd Morgan. An early cowled +4 chassis #3328. This car is now believed to be in Victoria.

Jim and Liz's 1974 +8, #R7700. 3.5L Rover V8 and Rover 4 sp gearbox. Jim picked this car up from the Factory on Jan 2nd 1974. He used the car in England for a few years, then toured Europe,before shipping it to South Africa. In 1975, while in South Africa, it was given a rebuild before finally migrating to Australia in 1977.
David's 1979 +8 #R8568. David bought his mog through the Australian agent Victor Kaye. Original colour was Silver with black interior, but now sports a Monza Red paint job following a roll-over while competing in the Targa Tasmania in the early nineties.

Colin's Plus 8 dates from 1979 and is a sister car to Davids red +8.
Tony's 1985 Plus 8 One of the later +8's fitted with Stromberg Carbs before the introduction of fuel injection.
Plus 8 at the 1996 Run to the Eagle. This car was owned by Bill before buying his alloy bodied +8
