Some interesting facts about our feline friends
A cat's pregnancy lasts about two months (61-70 days). Chocolate, Aspirin, and poinsettias are poisonous to cats. A cat's whiskers let it know if the space they are entering is big enough for them. The bottom two rows can move independantly from the other rows. Cats ears can turn in any direction, like a TV "dish" antennae, picking up the faintest sounds of mice or insects with remarkable accuracy. Newborn kittens have closed ear canals that don't begin to open for nine days. While most cats dislike getting wet, the Turkish Van cats enjoy taking a dip in water! A cat's skeleton has over 230 bones, making it extremely flexible. Human beings have 206 bones. The cat species began over 30 million years ago with the Saber-toothed tiger, which hunted deer, antelop, horses and buffalo. It became extinct 11,000 years ago.
