The German Dog traces its origins from herding stock in developed in the late 1800's.
What is Schutzhund
Schutzhund is German for "protection dog", but it also refers to a training discipline. The purpose of Schutzhund training is to assess and mold the dog's natural abilities to track, protect, and teach the dog control through obedience. and dog sport involving 3 phases; obedience, tracking and protection. It began as a German training and breeding regimen in the 1920's and the first trial was held in California in 1970.
