This page was started to let people know about a defunct Hardcore scene in upstate New York that revolved around a cold club known as
The reason I began this site is to pay tribute to the countless bands and kids who made the Boardwalk scene what it was. Although many would have, and will call The Boardwalk, The Bored Wack, as to discount its value and impact on upstate hardcore, I grew up on bands who played their hearts out in that place, and at least to me, it was a truly awesome venue.
I spent just about every weekend of my teenage years watching bands like SUB ZERO, DISMAY, SEALED WITH A FIST, DEMAND and GOD AWFUL.
The Boardwalk was my first Real taste of hardcore, and although I feel it's imperative to make the scene great here and now, the early 90's and the boardwalk are nostalgic to me and I'm sure a ton of other hardcore kids. For this reason I wanted to introduce those who never got the chance to experience The Boardwalk to what it was all about and all the great bands who played there. And for those who were there, I'm sure this trip down memory lane will be time well spent.
Like countless clubs before it and since, the Boardwalk shut it's doors to Hardcore music. But I hope that this page might resurrect old memories of a scene that faded away. Like the mighty Anthrax Club in Connecticut, The Boardwalk will hopefully be looked back on as a birth place for Hardcore in upstate New York.

I'll be putting up tons of pictures, info, flyers etc. from the wide range of bands and shows that went on at the boardwalk. Check back for new pictures and info on the bands listed above as well as new pages for other bands that played at the Boardwalk. Some of these bands include: CROWN OF THORNS, ABSORB, CHOKE, SIDE 3,COLD FRONT, SHELTER, GOD AWFUL (RAINMEN), DOWNFALL (BED OF STONE) and JASTA 14.
